MARCUS SLAUGHTER
"SLAYNE" TRAVELING SOUL COLLECTOR VIRGINIA
The year is 991 AD. A male Viking child is born on the outskirts of Ireland and is immediately an orphan. His mother dies in childbirth and the father died on the battlefield months prior.
Taken in by the Viking community, he is given the name Vidarr. Named after the son of Odin. A survivor of Ragnarok and the one who took down the murderous wolf, Fenrir.
A name that is known for vengeance and immense strength.
As Vidarr is able to walk, he is trained for battle. Ruthless training that has gave him many scars but molded him into a killing machine.
By the age 21, he had become an unstoppable force. Was deemed an berserker warrior for his outright insane fighting ability and fearless demeanor.
Fitted with black leather armor trimmed in wolf’s fur and the Valknut symbol on his shoulders, his look screamed death dealer. Equipped with a pair of razor sharp single blade axes, he was ready to kill anyone and anything in his path.
Then in April 1014 AD a battle near Dublin, Ireland breaks out. Vidarr was ready to go fight! He could finally put his murderous skills to use and bring fear to his enemies.
This battle lasted from sunrise to sundown and would take over 7,000 lives in one day, many by the hand of Vidarr.
Blood covered and in a berserkers rage he decimated his way through the battlefield.
Unfortunately, all of his Viking family perished in this battle. Leaving only himself.
As the sun set, and darkness began to fall over the valley, Vidarr is stabbed in the back by a near death foe on the ground in a surprise attack. The blade pierces his heart, and he falls face first into one of the many fires on the blood soaked battlefield.
The fire engulfs him, burning his whole body and melting his face as his life starts to slowly fade away.
But in an instant, time stops for a moment and he is visited by Hel, the goddess of death and the underworld.
She praises him as a true chaotic warrior and is impressed by his murderous fueled rage on the battlefield.
Seeing that he had nothing to lose, she gives him a choice,
“Commit your body and soul to me and i will grant you eternal life. You can take your vengeance out on all who you deem unworthy of living. Mark their souls for death and bring them to me for eternal pain and suffering….or burn and die a failure.”
As the echo of the word failure bounces around his head, he gets filled with hate and rage and nods to accepts her terms to do her bidding.
She leans down, places her hand on his exposed forehead and absorbs some of his blood. By doing this, Vidarr’s eyes turn blood red. This marks their agreement and seals it in blood.
As she resurrects Vidarr from the flames, she fits him with a long black cloak and hood, which puts out the fire that engulfed him. Then she merges his two axes into a scythe with a blade so sharp, it can split the biggest man in half with minimal force.
Seeing most of his jaw and lips were burnt off, she molds a spiked mace found on the battlefield into a mask and attached it over his nose and mouth. Burning it into his face to never be removed again.
As Vidarr transformation becomes complete, Hel announces that, “From this day forth, you will be known as Slayne. Pain and Torture Enforcer of the Underworld, Guardian & Collector of Souls for Helheim.”
Slayne laughs and disappears into the darkness.

Norse mythology has tried to erase his existence, but is reminded that he is still among us. Watching and judging from afar, his presence comes around enough to make his legend more than just a myth.
Deciding who he thinks should become the next soul for Hel…
Are you next?
If you ever unfortunately run across Slayne, and he says to you…”Slay Ya Later”…that is a warning…
Meaning you are marked and he will soon drag your soul to Hel and torture you for an eternity.
